Eastern Sierra ~ From Mount Whitney and the Alabama Hills in the south to Mono Lake in the north, this Eastern Sierra workshop is a photographer's dream. Photograph sunrise alpenglow on Mount Whitney, the Alabama Hills beneath the stars, the bristlecone pines of the White Mountains at sunset, first light on Mono Lake's tufa towers, and the vivid fall color blanketing mountainsides and reflecting in the area's many countless dramatic lakes. Big Sur ~ Big Sur is an unforgettable visual experience. This 90-mile stretch of coastline, world-renowned for its beauty and rugged splendor, is particularly photogenic in winter and spring when dramatic waves and the absence and tourists opens a world of color and infinite photographic possibilities. About the workshops

Gary Hart and Don Smith are full-time professional photographers with over 50 years combined photography experience. Unlike many workshops, these workshops are only in locations Gary and Don have photographed for many years, in all seasons, and in every possible weather condition.

All workshops feature small groups, with no more than 12 participants. Yosemite and Eastern Sierra workshops with more than 8 participants (and some with fewer) will be led by Gary, and assisted by Don Smith or another qualified photographer. Big Sur workshops are led by Don Smith with Gary Hart assisting. The priority is always on getting out in the field and taking pictures, but we always find time for training and image review. Digital or film, 35mm or medium format, beginner or expert, these workshops are for you if you like the idea of dedicating several sunrise-to-sunset days with experts who know the area and love photography as much as you do.
