Hawaii Photo Workshops
Extraordinary Photography Workshops, Tours, and Training on Hawaii's Big Island and Maui
It’s official: Hawaii is a photographer’s paradise. After extensive research I’ve decided that Hawaii’s plunging waterfalls, lush rain forests, volcanic beaches, frequent rainbows, and fiery volcanoes may just provide more photogenic beauty per square inch than any location on Earth. And if that isn’t enough, consider Hawaii’s weather: Billowing cumulus clouds make Hawaii’s skies always interesting, and believe me when I say there’s nothing like photographing a spectacular sunrise in shorts and flip-flops. What better location for a photo workshop?
Workshop or not, it’s pretty impossible to be unhappy in Hawaii. But if you’re a photographer, I know you’ll be even happier if you come away with images worth framing. Whether it’s peering into the fire of Kilauea Caldera at night, navigating the breathtaking Road to Hana, or exploring the intimate splendor of the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, I’ll give you lots to photograph in Hawaii. And to give you the best opportunity to succeed, every workshop includes image reviews and training that covering topics such as composition, digital workflow, metering and exposure (to name a few).
What makes these photo workshops special?
Not only do I know what I’m doing, I love what I do. And unlike many photo workshops, you'll be dealing with me, personally, from beginning to end. I'll respond to your inquiry, answer all your questions, help you prepare, and (with help from a qualified assistant) lead your workshop myself. And to keep you fresh, comfortable, private lodging (no roommates unless you choose to share with a friend or loved one) is always included.
But don’t take my word for it. If repeat business means anything, you might like to know that virtually all of my workshops fill months in advance with over 60 percent repeat customers. And if qualifications are important to you, start by reading my blog and viewing my images. If you don’t like what you see, read no further. If you do like my work, you may not even care that my photography is featured in books, magazines, art galleries, and private collections, and on calendars and greeting cards. Of more significance may be that I'm an experienced and enthusiastic trainer who loves photographing nature as much as you do. I also enjoy sharing with others the things I love to photograph, as well as sharing my personal insights on capturing great images. There are no secrets.
Put simply, my goals for each workshop are to see that you get the best images possible, and to make you a better photographer. (You’ll also meet great people and have a lot of fun.)
